Obituary of Barbara J. Smith

Barbara J. (Evans) Sosko, 67, of Mutual, died suddenly Monday, October 13, 2014. Born December 14, 1945 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of Charles and Catherine Phar. Before retiring in 2009, Barbara was employed as a Buffet Specialist at Eat N' Park. Barbara was the loving partner of 21 years to Bernie Sosko. She loved riding on the "trike" and travelling with Bernie, and cherished spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Will, a sister, Shirley, and a grandson, Franklin Michael Kalish. In addition to her loving partner, Bernie, she is survived by and will be greatly missed by her loving children Mary Catherine Morgan and Kirk O'Donnell of Herminie, Carol Powell and husband Greg of Greensburg, Thomas Evans Jr. and wife Malissa of Arona, Sandra Wozniak and her husband Stephen of Latrobe, 13 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren, and 7 siblings. Friends and Family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 Wednesday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME 2245 MT. PLEASANT ROAD, NORVELT, 15674. Barbara's Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 A.M. Thursday in St. Florian Church, United, with Rev. John A. Sedlak celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Florian Cemetery. Transfer Prayers will be given 9:15 A.M. Thursday in the funeral home. A Vigil Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home.
