Obituary of Larry Lowther Garner

Larry Lowther Garner, 79, of Acme passed away Friday, July 4, 2014. Born to the late Delbert and Dessie Garner on February 7, 1935 in Greenwood, West Virginia. Larry is survived by his wife of 39 years, Margaret S. "Peggy" Garner. The Garners have eight children Alan Garner and his wife Lydia of McDonough, GA, Deborah Lynn Krinock and her husband David of Mt. Pleasant, Daniel Grote and his wife Jacki of Clarksville, TN, Miranda Beam and her husband Cory of Greensburg, Preston Garner of Clarksville, TN, Holly Couchenour and her husband Philip of Mt. Pleasant, Sara Garner of Acme and Matthew Garner of Latrobe. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two sisters Janetta Snyder and her husband Gerald of Greensburg and Carolynn Whitt and her husband Darrell of Roanoke, VA. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Larry worked as a welder's helper for many years and was a member of Pipeline Local 798. He retired from Pace Pipeline Co. in late 2000 and soon thereafter began working for Arnold Palmer Associates for several years. Larry and his wife were foster parents for the past 30 years and only recently had their last three young children leave their care. There will be no funeral services for Larry but rather a memorial service for family and friends at a later date. The family asks that any donations be sent to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are in the care of JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt.
