Obituary of Cornelius P Schachte

Cornelius P. Schachte, 87 of Norvelt passed away Friday, May 1, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born January 28, 1933 in Hecla, son of Charles and Anastasia Nolan Schachte. He is survived by his devoted wife, Helen, of 55 years. He is preceded in death by brothers Jack, Paul, Joe, James, Francis, Richard and Leroy. Cornelius is survived by his sister Mary Catherine Lazor. He was a loving father to his children Carol (Gary) and grandson Nolan, Micheal (Terri), Robert (Deanna) and granddaughters Ava and Lyla. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. He was employed by Overly Manufacturing as a mechanical engineer. Cornelius is also a Veteran of The United States Army, and served during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Florian Church and the United Slovak Club. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather with a terrific wit and great sense of humor and will be missed by all. Private funeral arrangements are in care of Jay A. Hoffer Funeral home, Norvelt with Reverend John A. Sedlak Officiating. Interment to follow in St Mary Cemetery, Trauger.
