William C. Stemmler, 71, of Greensburg passed away Monday, December 2, 2014. Born February 2, 1943 in Jeannette, a son of the late Lawrence L. and Genevieve L. (Burd) Stemmler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and his wife Gerald and Ruth Stemmler. He was a past member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Greensburg. Prior to retirement, Bill had been employed by Westmoreland County in the tax mapping office. He was a veteran of the Army having served from 1964-1967. Bill is survived by nieces and nephews Randy (Shelby) Stemmler, Brain Stemmler, Gerald (Mary) Stemmler and Debra Stemmler. Also surviving is his friend and caregiver, Dennis. Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Norvelt, 15674, where his funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday with Rev. David L. Greer officiating. Interment to follow in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe.
