Obituary of Marian Frances Porch

Marian Frances (Craig) Porch, 92, formerly of Kecksburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021. She had been a resident of Weatherwood Manor, Greensburg, since April 2014. Marian was born Feb. 12, 1928, in Tarrs, daughter of the late Merle H. and Elsie (Stoner) Craig. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Carl "Cub" Ellsworth Porch, siblings Jane Bitner, Eleanor Ramsier, Glenn Craig, Henry Craig and Sam Craig. She was Protestant by faith. Marian was a loving mother to her children, Cynthia Genard and husband, James, of Greensburg, Daniel Porch and friend, Cathleen Howle, of St. Clairsville, Ohio; loving grandmother to two grandsons, Army Lieutenant Colonel Jason J. Genard and wife, Julia, and their daughter, Ava Rose, of Williamsburg, Va., and Army Major Ryan C. Genard and wife, Molly, and their sons, Guy Carl and Bode John, of Lakewood, Wash. She is survived by siblings, Nancy Harkcom, of Belleville, Helen Berg, of The Villages, Fla., and Fred Craig and his wife, Peggy, of Franklin; one sister-in-law, Norma Jean Brodak, of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews across the country. Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, at which time her service will begin with the Rev. David L. Greer officiating, in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Kecksburg. The family would like to thank everyone at Weatherwood Manor for their care and friendship over the past six and one half years.
