Mary J. (Turner) Peffer, 87, of Mammoth, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014. Born March 17, 1927 in Fairfield, TX, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Ethel (Hopkins) Turner. Mary was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Trauger. Before retirement, she was employed by the Westland Manufacturing Co., of Greensburg. Mary was a first charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary Kecksburg VFD, and was an avid bingo player. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Edward Peffer, a son, Jake, a sister and three brothers. She is survived by her loving children, Byron "Zeke" (Joellen "Bunny") Peffer, of Norvelt, Avis (Wayne) Specht of Latrobe, Eric (Shelly) Peffer of Mammoth, Daughter in law Patricia Goulding of Springertown, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, a brother Byron Turner, and a sister Hilda McLeod. Family and friends will be received 2-8 Thursday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME 2245 MT. PLEASANT RD., NORVELT 15674, where her funeral service will be held 11 AM Friday. Private Interment to follow at St. Paul Reformed Cemetery, Trauger.
