Robert M Gumbita, 79 of Mt Pleasant, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021. A lifelong resident of Norvelt, he was born April 26, 1942, a son of the late Andrew and Mary (Rohaly) Gumbita. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife Patricia (Solo) Gumbita and his brother Andrew. Robert was a long-time member of the Mt Pleasant School Board, serving as President, a long-time member of the Mt Pleasant Junior Football League, and the head coach of the United Steelers for many years. Robert is survived by his children Lisa Wilson and her husband, Greg of Danville, Calif., Lori Smith and her husband, Dr. Deane, of Evansville, Ind., Leslie Miele and her husband, Dr. Vincent of Pittsburgh, and Robert J. Gumbita and his wife Melissa, of Norvelt. He is also survived by his most cherished grandchildren, whom he loved spending time with, Dr. Robert Gumbita, Landon Smith, Ryan Gumbita, Benjamin Wilson, Alex Wilson, Gabriella Miele, and Elliot Gumbita. Honoring Robert's wishes entombment will be private in Middle Presbyterian Cemetery Mausoleum. Arrangements are in care of Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home, Norvelt.
