Thomas A. Straslicka, 68, of Newark, Delaware, formerly of Ligonier and Norvelt, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Born February 21, 1946 in Greensburg, he was a son of the late William A. Sr. and Irene (Magda) Straslicka. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Janet (Kline) Staslicka on November 30, 2013. He was a graduate of Greensburg Central Catholic High School in 1964 and Penn State University in 1968. Tom was a veteran of the Army having served in Vietnam, a member of the American Legion and the VFW both of Delaware. Prior to retirement, Tom was employed as an auditor for Federal Credit Union. He is survived by three siblings Eileen (William) Ranella of Mt. Pleasant, Bill (Vickie)Straslicka of Pittsburgh, Debbie (Cecil) Hebert of Sunset, LA; one niece and four nephews. Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Norvelt, 15674 where his Rite of Christian Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday with Rev. John A. Sedlak officiating. A vigil service will be 7:45 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Military honors will be accorded by Armbrust Veterans Association at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
