Hugh Dean Hawkins, 86, of Mt. Pleasant, PA, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at home. He was born March 29, 1936, in Durham, NC. to the late Everett Marler and Nelle Hawkins. He served in the US, Navy on the USS Robinson. He was a retired warehouse worker in the cooler for Charlie Brothers. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Trauger, PA and a member of the Norvelt Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Janet (Wilson) Hawkins, and a son Mark Allen Hawkins He is survived by five children, Hugh Hawkins (Michele), David Hawkins (Barbara), Bonnie Lackner (Thomas), Amy Malazich (Michael), and Tyler Hawkins, ten grandchildren, Stacey, Bob, David, Kayla, Benjamin, Emily, Julia, Jenna, Anjalina and Dylan: five great-grandchildren, Trevor, Eliana, Arielle, Olivia and Owen; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received in the Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home, Monday, April 25, 2022, 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dave Greer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery Memorial contributions can be made in this name to the Norvelt Volunteer Fire Department, 2325 Mt.
