Obituary of Beth A Silva

Beth A.(Hricik)Silva died Tuesday,Nov.1, 2022,at Barnes Place in Latrobe,PA.She was the devoted daughter of the late Thomas M.and Geraldine D.(Firment) Hricik.She was a graduate of Greater Latrobe HighSchool.She received her BSN from Edinboro University. Beth obtained a Master's degree in Leadership and Management from St.Vincent College.Beth began her nursing career in New York in the Bronx,then at New York University Hospitalin Manhattan.Beth worked in various capacities of nursing for over 30 years at Excela Latrobe Hospital.It was while she was working in New York Beth met the love of her life,Ruben S.Silva, who was also a registered nurse.Beth and Ruben were married 33 years prior to his passing in January 2022.Beth was the caregiver for her mother from February 2021 until her passing in August 2022.They were not only mother and daughter,but also best friends.They enjoyed shopping together especially at yard sales and thrift shops.Beth was the kindest and most generous person to everyone she knew.She spent time volunteering and making donations to the local homeless shelter.Beth and Ruben enjoyed trips to Germany,visiting her brother Steve and his family,they also visited France,Italy and the Caribbean. Beth, Ruben and Drew visited The Philippines Ruben's home on the island of Cebu.Beth also loved going to Florida to visit her sister Mary and going to Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando.Beth is survived by her beloved son,Drew R. Silva and his wife Crystal of Brooklyn,Michigan.In addition to her son,Beth is survived by her sister and brothers:Mary Borde(Arthur)of St. Augustine,Fl.,Michael ricik(Vicki) of Mount Pleasant,Thomas Hricik(Brandi) of St.Augustine FI.,and Stephen Hricik(Lori) of Stuttgart,Germany and her dearest friend,Mary Bitner.She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews,cousins,aunts and uncles,all of whom she dearly loved.
