Obituary of Donna A. Nicholson

Donna A. (Dunn) Nicholson, 91, of Norvelt, passed away Dec. 5, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at her home of 70 years. She was born Feb. 17, 1931, in Calumet, to the late Thomas A. and Verna (Bennett) Dunn. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, gardening, and decorating her home. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Trauger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Nicholson; an infant son; a son, William Nicholson, and a daughter, Denise A. Nicholson (May 2022); two brothers, Jay B. Dunn and Robert A. Dunn. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by three children, Timothy (Charlene) Nicholson, of Norvelt, Thomas (Lisa) Nicholson, of Canonsburg, and Hope (Mark) Vallorani, of Latrobe; ten grandchildren, Rebecca (David) Kelley, Stacey (Brett) Garstecki, Leah (Chad) Vallorani, Matthew Nicholson, Jamie (Matthew) Keller, Kenneth (Molly) Nicholson, Lindsay (Douglas) Shaffer, Corey (Nadia) Nicholson, Chelsea Vallorani, and Blake (Adrian) Vallorani; and thirteen great grandchildren, Brenna, Landen, Aiden, Caleb, Ethan, Madelyn, Gianna, Landyn, Logan, Sidney, Vaun, Malcolm and Colin. Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec 8, 2022, in JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt, PA 15674, where a funeral service will be Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor David L. Greer officiating.
