Obituary of Wendell J. Summy

Wendell J. Summy, 92, of Mt. Pleasant, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023. He was the son of the late Charles and Mabel Summy of Mt. Pleasant. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Eva M. (Dunn) Summy two sons, Thomas (fiancé Debbie) Summy and Robert (Linda) Summy both of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Ruth; two brothers, Homer and William; and a sister, Marlene Silk. Wendell graduated from Hurst High School in 1949, when he also joined the U.S. Air Force becoming an (M.P.) Military Police Officer. He later worked at PPG Industries and also as a corrections officer at Pittsburgh, Greensburg and Camp Hill. He was one of the founders of the Armbrust Veterans, having participated in hundreds of military funerals. Wendell is also preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Edward and a sister, Maxine Craig, (twin of Marlene). The family would like to thank all of the Hospice nurses and caregivers for all of their wonderful help and support and prayers. As per Wendell’s wishes, there will be no public veiwing or services.
