Obituary of Janet M. Shafer

Janet M. (Brown) Shafer, 80, of Murrysville, passed away Thursday, Mar. 16, 2023. She was born June 20, 1942, in Acme, to the late Herbert and Helen (Grimm) Brown. Janet was a homemaker who devoted her life to loving her family. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Allan Shafer; two children, Amy Spence (Rob), Bruce Shafer (Dawn); three grandchildren, Corey Vacca, Robbie Spence, and Tyler Shafer; four sisters, Charlotte Werry, Mary Diehl, Dorothy Harbaugh and Sandi White; many nieces, nephews and loved ones. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Mar. 19, 2023, in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Mar. 20, 2023, at the funeral home, with Pastor Keith Deckinger officiating. Burial to follow in Brown's Cemetery, Acme.
