Obituary of Janie Sherbondy

Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023, at Independence Health System - Latrobe Hospital. She was born Nov. 6, 1948, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Michael R. and Evelyne (Kissel) Luckage. Janie had worked in the Food service industry as a waitress for many years. She also worked at Westmoreland Manor prior to retirement. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Michael Luckage. Janie is survived by her husband of 55 years, Billy R. Sherbondy; a son, William Sherbondy, and his wife Tracy, and their daughter, Rylee all of Greensburg, and a son, Michael Sherbondy of FL; four siblings, Judi Boring, (who was her twin) and her husband Lewis of New Florence, Carol Miscovich, and her husband Tom of Century Farms, Susan Poklemba, and her husband Steve of Greensburg, and Lori Harr, and her husband Mark of Mt. Pleasant; nieces and nephews, Yvonne Rydman, and her husband Danny of MD, Patty Collazo and her husband Angelo of FL, Julie O’hare, and her husband Mark of CA and Nick Mizikar, and his wife Angela of PA. Family and friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023, in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Road, Norvelt, PA 15674. Janie’s funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2023, in the funeral home, with Pastor Jeff Stewart officiating. Interment will be private. www.HofferFuneralHome.com.
