Obituary of Dorla J. Miller

Dorla J. Miller, of Mt. Pleasant, peacefully passed away on January 10, 2024, at Harmon House. She was born on October 18, 1936, in Acme, to the late Brooks and Clara Wadsworth. Dorla dedicated her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse at Westmoreland Hospital. Outside of work, Dorla found joy in various activities. She particularly enjoyed time with family camping and spending time in nature. Additionally, she devoted her time to teaching Sunday School at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, where she shared her faith and values with younger generations. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne E. Miller, and her brothers-in-law, William F. Miller Jr, Clair (Susan) Miller, Arthur Miller, and Logan (Vicki) Miller. She is survived by her three children, Cynthia Frock of Mt. Pleasant, Nancy (Ronald) Morgan of Acme, and Bruce Miller (Sue Weathers) also of Acme. Dorla will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Alysha Morgan of Scottdale, Jaclyn (Per) DeVore of Vermont, Zachery (Danielle) Miller of Latrobe, and Noah Miller of Jeannette. She is also survived by her sister, Donna Lohr of Greensburg, and sister-in-law, Myrna Miller, also of Greensburg. Additionally, Dorla leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday at the HOFFER WILT FUNERAL HOME (formerly Jay A. Hoffer Funeral Home), Norvelt, from 2-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9am at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Donegal. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. The family kindly requests that any floral arrangements sent DO NOT INCLUDE PINE due to allergies. Dorla will be remembered for her kind heart, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Interment to follow in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Trauger.
