Samuel J. Dean, 70, of Hecla, passed away Monday, April 06, 2015 in Excela Health Frick Hospital. Born July 19, 1944 in Greensburg, he was the son of the late Samuel P. and Irene (Konieczny) Dean. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Kathy DeFlitch and mother and father in law Mildred "Dude" and Eugene "Sparky" Allison. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Local Union 66 as a heavy equipment operator. Over the years, Sam and his family enjoyed camping in many places and in later years at Mt. Pines Resort. He also was a member of the Rolling Oldies Car Club. Sam will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 50 years Connie (Allison) Dean, three sons Sam, Robert and girlfriend Tina, Bill and wife Stacy; five grandsons Sammy, DJ, Shane, Michael, Matthew; one great grandson Danny and nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, 2245 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Norvelt, 15674 where his funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Josh Tamblyn officiating. Entombment to follow in Middle Presbyterian Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Morcos and his staff for the kindness and care they provided.
